Coronary artery bypass surgery
The heart is responsible for pumping blood through the blood vessels to reach all parts of the body. It requires blood for working properly and pumping the blood away from it. Blood vessels named coronary arteries are mainly responsible to supply the blood to the heart. If these blood vessels become blocked with plaque, inadequate oxygen reaches the heart muscle and it begins to die. Coronary artery bypass surgery is a treatment option, especially in patients with more than one blockage.
